Amazon has released some images from its upcoming TV series Fallout, which is based on the RPG game from 1997 with the same name.
In the images, we can see some of the series’ main characters wandering around in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. The series is created by the same team behind Westworld. Among the actors featured are Aaron Moten (“Maximus”), Ella Purnell (“Lucy”), Walton Goggins (“The Ghoul”), and Kyle MacLachlan (“Overseer Hank”). Amazon writes about the series:
Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them.

At the center of the entire “Fallout” universe is a nuclear war that has destroyed the earth. To protect themselves from the bombs, people built vaults underground. Here, several generations of people have lived, and now, several years after the war, some of them have been opened.
What awaits outside is a cold and desolate world. The “Mad Max” movies are a clear inspiration, and here there are mutants, looters, and ordinary people just trying to survive. In the TV series, we will see Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell, and Kyle MacLachlan among the cast.
The first two “Fallout” games were made by Black Isle Studios. Then some spinoffs were released, and afterwards, Bethesda took over the game series. They have made “Fallout 3” and its sequels, as well as the online role-playing game “Fallout 76”.
Fallout premieres on Amazon Prime Video on April 12, 2024.
