The scandals surrounding Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard have had a significant impact on both of their careers. Depp was shunned by Hollywood, and Heard hasn’t had much time to film new projects amidst all the courtroom battles. On June 1st last year, the court decision was reached – Amber Heard was found guilty of defamation and ordered to pay Depp $15 million in damages.
Now, the actress is ready to make a public appearance again and refocus on her career, according to Deadline. She has a new film premiere coming up in Sicily.
Heard stars in “In the Fire,” described as a supernatural thriller about a child psychiatrist and a boy believed to be possessed by the devil. The story takes place in Colombia in 1899. “In the Fire” will have its world premiere at the Taormina Film Festival at the end of June. Heard will be present alongside director Conor Allyn (“Walk. Ride. Rodeo.”) and a co-star.
This will be her first feature film since 2019’s “Aquaman.” Amber Heard will also appear in the sequel “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” set to be released in theaters this winter.
Johnny Depp recently premiered his latest film, the French period drama “Jeanne du Barry,” at the Cannes Film Festival. During a press conference, the star mentioned that he “no longer feels the need for Hollywood” after being boycotted and losing several major roles.
