Well, here we’ve been sitting and gearing up for later today, but now Rockstar has released the trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI earlier than planned. The reason, of course, is a L-E-A-K, and it’s certainly a shame that they didn’t get the chance to unveil it as planned.
Just as speculated, we will be returning to Vice City, but this time in the present. Or perhaps more accurately to the state of Leonida, so it’s not impossible that there are more cities to wreak havoc in. In the trailer, we also get to see some swamplands, so it’s not just urban environments that are in store.
It has been rumored that the game has two playable characters, but this first trailer focuses on the female one, named Lucia. She appears to start her journey in prison, but whether she breaks out or is released remains to be seen. The other (potential) character is apparently her boyfriend, and together they are seen, among other things, robbing a store.
The game is coming in 2025, but only Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are mentioned in a press release that has been sent out, so it seems that PC gamers will have to wait this time as well.
