After the wildly charming and ridiculously fun role-playing games The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole, our expectations for South Park games have changed. With South Park: Snow Day, we have to revise these expectations. Here, we don’t get a role-playing game with classic South Park graphics, but a 3D game with fast and chaotic snowball action (although there are more fiery and deadly weapons than just snowballs).
South Park: Snow Day was unveiled during the weekend THQ show, and the reception on various social media platforms has been somewhat mixed. The consensus seems to be: “it’s not an RPG, we want an RPG! But okay, we’ll wait and see what this turns out to be.” Roughly like that.
One thing doesn’t have to exclude the other, and more South Park role-playing games could come in the future. However, Snow Day has a co-op focus where you and up to three friends create chaos together.
