Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a highly anticipated and welcome sequel, and, like its predecessor, it’s an action role-playing game where players are accompanied by several AI-controlled companions. During the ongoing Tokyo Game Show, Capcom has been present, showcasing more of the game, including a gameplay walkthrough where they share a bit about what we can expect.
Players have four starting classes to choose from: fighter, mage, thief, and archer, and there are also advanced classes that can be unlocked later in the game, such as mystic spearhand and magick archer. As before, players can also interact with the environment, demonstrated in the video by pushing a troll over a chasm to create a temporary bridge and by bursting a dam to send a flood toward enemies.
To get around the world, players can hop on ox-drawn carts they come across, which they can either ride in real-time or “close their eyes” to reach their destination faster. However, there’s a risk that the cart may be attacked along the way, so be prepared to “handle the situation.”
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is being developed for Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 5, and PC, but we haven’t received a release date yet.
