Yesterday, publisher Annapurna Interactive hosted a show, and one of the highlights was the announcement of a new Blade Runner game. It’s called Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth and takes place between the first and second films.
We don’t know the exact type of game it will be, but it will allow us to see what a blade runner does when there are no replicants to chase. The trailer suggests that part of the work involves searching for something in archived material, “digging through the remains in places that no longer exist.”
It certainly sounds like a setup leaning more towards adventure than action, which fans of the 1997 point-and-click game would surely welcome. More information is promised in the coming months, and the game is coming to PC and consoles.
