So I’ve been playing with my Bose Soundlink Mini II Bluetooth Speaker for a few weeks now and it easily slots into the category of one of the best Bluetooth speakers. The sound quality coming from this little gadget is astounding and I highly recommend the Bose Soundlink II Mini Bluetooth Speaker.

As mentioned in my previous post, the Bose Soundlink II Mini is the new version of the already much loved and acclaimed Soundlink Mini.

The main improvements are:

  • Better phone call functionality
  • Longer battery life (10 hours play time)
  • Multi-connect for phones and table
  • Voice prompts for easier pairing

The Design

The Bose Soundlink Mini II Bluetooth Speaker’s palm-sized form factor means that you can take it anywhere with you – in your bag for school or on your travels around the world. It’s the modern-day mini version of the BoomBox of the 1980s except you don’t have to hoist something huge and heavy on your shoulder to share amazing sounds. Everyone is always surprised about the humungous sound that comes out of this tiny box. Well done to the Bose sound engineers on this technological feat!

I like how Bose have included a charging cradle to make recharging less complicated – when your Soundlink II Mini requires juice just place it on top of the cradle without having to fiddle with finding the micro USB chargle slot. Very nice touch and thoughtful user consideration.

The Sound
While I don’t consider myself an audiophile, I’ve played with more bluetooth speakers than the average person and can attest that the Bose Soundlink Mini II Bluetooth Speaker has the best sound I’ve ever heard. The bass is huge and the treble is crisp without distortion even at max volume. Many of you know that I love my Gospel and R&B tunes and the Soundlink II Mini plays them wonderfully.

Functions
Bose have kept functions simple: the Soundlink Mini II Bluetooth Speaker plays music and allows you to answer to phone calls. Interestingly Bose does not include a display on the speaker to show song or call status. I’m assuming they’ve done so to save battery power and that the user will view all they need to via the device they are using. I like this simplification.

After bluetooth pairing, the Soundlink Mini II allows you to answer phone calls from speaker. Handy when you’re hands are busy typing Word documents or spreadsheets. You can also use this in your car as a handsfree if you don’t want to wear a bluetooth headset.

I like how the speaker tells you (via voice announcement) how much battery is left and which device it is currently connected to.

Bose have improved phone call functionality and multi-device connectivity with this new Soundlink II Mini. If at anytime you were considering getting a Bose Soundlink II Mini, this is the one.

What I like about the Bose Soundlink II Mini Bluetooth Speaker:

  • Solid feel
  • Battery level and device announcement when powering on
  • Amazing bass and crisp treble
  • Compact size
  • Good battery life
  • Easy bluetooth pairing
  • Multiple device setup
  • Persistent bluetooth connection with no drop out
  • Convenient charging cradle

What can be improved on the Bose Soundlink Mini II Bluetooth Speaker:

  • Heavy size
  • No carry case provided

Overall, as I’ve hinted above, the Bose Soundlink Mini II Bluetooth Speaker is the best mini bluetooth speaker on the market due to its superior sound and compact size. Highly recommended!
