Physical keyboards are something that many of us use daily, but they are often quite boring – yet functional, which is ultimately the most important thing. However, a keyboard that tries to be a bit more fun without becoming an RGB-fest is the Altar I keyboard from the company Electronic Materials Office.
As can be seen in the pictures, the keyboard is not unlike a synthesizer from the Swedish company Teenage Engineering, thanks in large part to the rotary knob and the concave number keys.
The company Electronic Materials Office, which manufactures the keyboard, says that their goal is for their products to be sustainable, produced under good conditions, and designed with thoughtfulness. The keyboard’s keys are made of recycled plastic and the keys themselves are mechanical. The keyboard works with both macOS and Windows. Charging is done via USB-C.
The price is currently $349, and deliveries are set to begin this fall.
