Several users of the Surface Pro X have reported on both Reddit and Microsoft’s forums that the camera on their Surface laptops is no longer functioning.
The Verge confirms that the camera on the flagship model of Microsoft’s Surface series has also stopped working for them. Microsoft has not yet commented on why it is no longer possible to make video calls with the Surface Pro X or perform any other camera-related functions.
There is currently no available update that fixes the issue. Some users of the Surface Pro X have discovered that the camera starts working again if they set the operating system’s date to May 22 or an earlier date, indicating that it is some kind of bug related to the date.
