Danish automaker Zenvo Automotive now presents, as promised, the brand-new model named Aurora. Beyond a significant leap in terms of design, this model features an entirely new heart in the form of a hybrid V12 engine.
The model is offered in two versions: Aurora Agil and Aurora Tur. Both are based on the new modular carbon fiber monocoque ZM1, which is said to weigh only 120 kilograms. Agil is more track-focused with a large wing and additional downforce enhancements, while Tur is geared towards long trips in Europe, so to speak. Aurora is Zenvo’s lightest car to date, with Tur weighing in at 1450 kilograms.
The engine, developed by Mahle Powertrain, is made of aluminum and positioned in the middle of the car. The engine weighs 260 kilograms and has a displacement of 6.6 liters. Notably, it is equipped with four turbochargers, with a redline set at 9800 RPM. The power output is stated as 1267 horsepower.
If one opts for an Agil, there’s only an electric motor at the rear, resulting in a combined power output of 1470 horsepower. All of this power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission. The 0-100 km/h sprint is claimed to take 2.5 seconds, with a top speed of 365 km/h.
On the other hand, the Tur features all-wheel drive with two additional electric motors at the front, providing a total of 1876 horsepower. This setup is said to achieve 0-100 km/h in 2.3 seconds and a top speed of 450 km/h.
Only 50 units of each version will be produced, with manufacturing set to commence in Denmark sometime in 2025. However, the exact pricing details are not available at the moment.
