The richest person in Vietnam is Pham Nhat Vuong, who is also the founder of the electric car manufacturer VinFast. He has now injected another billion dollars into the company, while $1.5 billion goes to the parent company Vingroup in a new financing round.
The money will be used for expansion into global markets such as France, Germany, and the Netherlands later this year.
In Vietnam, VinFast currently offers six electric car models, one electric bus, and nine electric motorcycles.
