A new generation of Mini Cooper is on its way and testing of the car is in full swing. It will be offered both as a gasoline-powered car and as an electric car, but only the former will be offered with five doors and as a convertible.
Now we’re getting some more information about the electric version, which will be manufactured in China in partnership with Great Wall Motors. The car will be available with a battery pack of either 40 or 54 kWh in the SE version. The former is expected to provide a range of 240 miles and will be combined with an electric motor of 184 horsepower. The price tag will be over 30,000 pounds.
The SE version, on the other hand, will have 218 horsepower, but we don’t know the range yet. An even hotter JWC version is expected to arrive in mid-2025. The car will only be offered with two-wheel drive, but whether it’s front or rear-wheel drive is unclear. Engineers have developed a new anti-skid system that is much faster than before and provides an even better driving experience.
The new Mini Cooper will premiere in May next year. The electric version will be released first, followed by the gasoline version in July. Before that, however, the new Countryman will be launched in February. The Aceman will be launched in 2025.
