We’ve been anticipating this for some time, and boy, was the wait worth it! The Xbox One X is by far the most powerful gaming console ever created. It is also the smallest Microsoft console to date. Its sleek design resembles that of its predecessor, the Xbox One; the machine is jet black, with the top part hanging over a slim, elegant base. And as much as we can appreciate a nice looking console, what really interests us is what’s inside.
Microsoft really outdid itself with this one. The Xbox One X, which until recently we knew only as ‘Project Scorpio’, has a custom eight-core AMD CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz, 12 GB GDDR5 of graphic memory, a 6 Teraflop GPU that allows for 4K environment and characters and a 326 GB/sec memory bandwidth for super fast loading. You can read up on all the specs on Microsoft’s website.
What’s really awesome as well is that if you already own an Xbox One, you won’t have to buy all your favorite games and accessories again. Everything you have, from controllers to every game ever made for the Xbox One will be compatible with the Xbox One X. That’s a winner in and of itself.
Do you remember the dreaded ‘Red Ring of Death’ we were so scared of with the Xbox 360? Well, you won’t have to worry about that little atrocity with the Xbox One X. It contains a liquid cooled vapor chamber that prevents the console’s hardware from overheating. That’s a smart move on Microsoft’s part, given just how much power they packed in their latest masterpiece.
But what about the games? You’ll be pleased to learn that Microsoft and Xbox have announced that they will be launching the much awaited Forza Motorsport 7. Frankly, the graphics and animations are out of this world. The game will also feature an unheard of 700 + cars and will run at 4K/60fps. We couldn’t ask for more.
Other games you can look forward to playing on the Xbox One X include Metro: Exodus, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Dragon Ball Fighter Z and State of Decay 2. The new console is scheduled to be available this November and is set to retail for $499, which is a pretty decent price for what you’re getting, and the countless hours of entertainment it will provide.
