OJO to Launch Projector for Nintendo Switch – and Other Devices

Nintendo Switch is decidedly a great gaming platform that has quickly gained in popularity since its launch back in March of this year. It supports a lot of games, is addictive, and it’s fun to play with friends and family. The Switch is small, and so can go with you anywhere, but unfortunately, most people don’t carry their big screen television with them when going on vacation or meeting somewhere where a television isn’t available. And here, the Switch’s small size is an issue, because it’s hard to crowd up close enough to see, especially in split-screen situations.

Well, Mark Ma and Jack Gilbert decided to remedy the situation. Together with a group of engineers and designers, they came up with OJO, a small, portable projector that allows users to project their Nintendo Switch’s screen on any flat surface (such as a wall or fold up screen). Depending on the surface’s size and how far you are from it, OJO allows a projection as small as 30 inches and as wide as 120 inches. And that’s not all. OJO also amplifies your Switch’s sound so that you have a cinematic sound experience wherever you go.

But OJO isn’t only for the Switch. It sports 4 hours of battery time which can be used to play with your switch or simply to charge it, along with other devices like your phone or tablet thanks to its two USB ports. An HDMI port allows users to use the projector to project from other devices as well, like projecting a movie from a tablet to the wall so that everyone can sit comfortably while enjoying the show. The projector also comes with a charger so that users can recharge its battery when they come across an outlet.

All in all, it’s a compact and useful little device that offers multiple functionalities and will no doubt be appealing to even people who don’t own a Nintendo Switch. It is available for pre-order on Indiegogo at a discount for early birds – it is currently priced at $269, a whole $100 cheaper than what its actual retail price is expected to be. OJO will ship some time in December, so if you know someone who could use one, it will make a great Christmas present.
