2020 Could be the Year of the iPhone SE 2, Rumors Say

Critics may say otherwise but the numbers prove that Apple’s iPhone still reigns supreme in the world of mobile phones.

Apple sold 46.89 million iPhones worldwide in the fourth quarter of last year alone, and that is after the tech giant sold 216.75 million iPhones in 2017.

But the anticipation for a new iPhone never ends. While last year’s much-anticipated release of the iPhone XS series proved to be a hit, die-hard Apple fans are still looking forward to what the company has to offer in the future.

But some tech geeks are not only anticipating the arrival of this year’s lineup in another launch this September, but they are also hoping to welcome the iPhone SE 2, which according to rumors is set to be released in 2020. When you get a new iPhone, the first idea comes to your mind must be copying the data matters from the old one to the new one. Besides using iTunes, you’re also suggested using high-reviewed iPhone data transfer software – IOTransfer to make it without effort, also eliminating risks about data loss.

Here’s what we know:

Apple already discontinued the iPhone SE

At last year’s September launch, Apple announced that it would no longer produce another iPhone SE mobile device.

The news left Apple fans who prefer smaller and more affordable handsets disappointed, to say the least. The iPhone SE is still Apple’s most affordable phone, even cheaper than the iPhone XR, which is valued at $749.

Also, the company hasn’t produced any device that’s smaller than 5.8 inches since it launched the iPhone SE in September 2017.

Speculations are going around about a possible launch in 2020

Although Apple already discontinued the iPhone SE, rumors still kept swirling around about how they might surprise consumers with the SE 2 in the near future.

The 4.8-inch smartphone may be Apple’s smallest handset, but it was widely accepted by consumers who didn’t appreciate carrying around a bulky phone.

With iPhone sales not as remarkable last year as compared to previous years, the iPhone SE 2 might just be Apple’s ticket back up when it comes to sales.

The company is also looking to target one of the biggest smartphone markets in the world, China.

And if the country will not ban Apple in retaliation for Trump’s ban on Huawei, the iPhone SE 2 is a great handset to introduce to the Chinese market because it’s affordable yet very durable.

Some sources are hinting that a small iPhone is in the pipeline

While Apple has been quiet about an iPhone SE 2 handset in development, some suppliers are spilling the beans on what could be the successor of the budget-friendly phone.

According to Barclays Analyst Blayne Curtis, some suppliers have mentioned that a potential iPhone SE 2 with iPhone 8 internals may be in the works.

A report by DigiTimes last April 2019 also suggested that Apple may be releasing a 5.42-inch smartphone in 2020.

So, will there really be an iPhone SE 2?

There are different ways to look at things when it comes to answering whether or not Apple is set to release the iPhone SE 2.

If you look at its unveiling last year, the company has made it clear that it’s starting a new generation of iPhones with the iPhone XS and XR series.

The iPhone XR is the new budget-friendly phone, experts say, which means that Apple may not be launching the SE 2 anymore.

Still, others say that Apple may launch the iPhone SE 2 to offer a cheaper alternative to consumers who cannot afford to pay for a regular iPhone.

This is in line with the company’s goal of reaching out to a bigger market. But, will there really be an iPhone SE 2 in 2020? We’ll just have to wait and see.
