Volkswagen’s upcoming electric vehicle platform SSP was initially said to be delayed until 2030, but now the CEO of the Volkswagen Group, Oliver Blume, states that they will be able to stick to the schedule and launch it in 2026. It was originally stated that the platform would offer power outputs of up to 1,115 horsepower, but this figure has now been increased to 1,724 instead. They will also be able to charge the vehicles based on this platform faster, going from 10% to 80% in just twelve minutes. Volkswagen will use the platform for its smaller and more affordable models, Audi for its mid-range models, and Porsche for its largest and most expensive ones. The new accompanying software will enable Level 4 autonomous driving.
