If you are interested in a completely unrestored 1930s supercharged Mercedes, it’s time to load up your wallet on April 7th.

1930s supercharged Mercedes

Mark J Smith has had a passion for original and unrestored classic cars. Over the years, his collection has grown into an impressive time capsule with cars from throughout the 20th century.

All are untouched and tell us what a car really looked like when it left the factory.

Now, his collection is going under the hammer at Gooding & Co. On April 7th, the hammer will fall, and one of the cars that really stands out is a true classic from the 1930s.

Iconic car

The car is a 1934 Mercedes Benz 500 K, one of the iconic supercharged cars from the time when Germany stood for incredible economic growth.

The car was ordered new by the high-ranking Nazi Rudolf Hess, who used the car privately for a few years before being imprisoned during a trip to England, and then remaining in Allied hands until his death in Spandau Prison in 1987.

Ended up in the US

After the war, the car ended up in the US and remained in the same family for over 50 years, living its life apart from the rapidly emerging classic car hobby.

Since Mark J Smith bought the car, nothing has been done to it except for the maintenance required to keep a classic like this in good condition. However, it is now expected to find a new owner and is expected to sell for just under $2,000,000.

So, if you want to become the owner of one of the very few untouched 1930s Mercedes still in existence, join in.
