The unveiling of the new Mini Cooper and Countryman is approaching, set for September 1st.
The cars have already leaked and been shown without camouflage by Mini themselves, so how they will look is hardly a surprise. What we know now is that the Cooper will initially be front-wheel drive, while the Countryman will be all-wheel drive. The entry model, known as the Cooper E, will have a 40 kWh battery pack, providing a range of 380 km. The electric motor delivers 181 horsepower.
The Cooper SE, on the other hand, features a 54 kWh battery pack and a 215-horsepower electric motor. However, the range for this model is still unclear. The Countryman shares its platform with the BMW iX1, and the entry-level E version will have a 188-horsepower motor coupled with a 54 kWh battery pack. The SE ALL4 variant has an electric motor at the front and one at the rear, offering a combined 308 horsepower. The battery pack for this model is 64 kWh.
More powerful John Cooper Works versions will be presented later. Sales are set to commence next summer.
