Renault has unveiled the all-new Scenic, now offered as an electric car and transformed from a minivan to a crossover. The vehicle is designed, developed, and manufactured in France.
Two battery sizes are available – 60 kWh or 87 kWh. The first is the same as the one in the Megane E-tech 100% Electric. The electric motor delivers 170 horsepower, and on a single charge, the car can travel up to 420 kilometers (260 miles). Charging options include 22 kW AC charging or up to 130 kW DC fast charging. The larger 87 kWh battery will be initially available. Paired with a 220-horsepower motor, this version offers a range of up to 620 kilometers (385 miles). AC charging of up to 22 kW and DC fast charging of up to 150 kW are supported.
The new Scenic measures 4.47 meters in length, 1.86 meters in width, 1.57 meters in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.78 meters. The trunk provides 545 liters of space, expanding to 1670 liters when the rear seats are folded. It can tow up to 1.1 tons. The version with the smaller battery weighs 1750 kilograms, while the one with the larger battery weighs 1842 kilograms.
Inside, there are dual twelve-inch screens, Google Automotive integration, and up to 50 specially designed apps. On the technology front, features include adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, and adaptive vision LED headlights.
