Radford has put together a Pikes Peak Edition of the Type 62-2 model, equipped with a plethora of extra aerodynamic features to stay grounded when it’s time to accelerate.
They have also trimmed down the vehicle, with the weight coming in at a mere 861 kilograms. That’s quite impressive considering the engine delivers 700 horsepower, so the power-to-weight ratio is quite favorable. This version features a monocoque made entirely of carbon fiber, compared to the street version which has an aluminum monocoque.
The chassis has also been updated in several areas, and the driver is now positioned in the center. The engine, a supercharged 3.5-liter V6, is paired with a sequential gearbox that powers the rear wheels. It is expected to achieve a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of around 2.3 seconds. The car will be driven by Tanner Foust and will compete in the “exhibition class.”
