Some manufacturers overstate their numbers, while others understate them. BMW belongs to the latter, which has been shown in several dyno tests in recent years.
The engines simply provide more power than what is written on paper, and that can be a bit nice. Now it turns out that the same is true for the new M2.
It should have 458 horsepower and 549 newton meters from the factory in the engine, but during testing, the figures were instead 470 horsepower and 557 newton meters of torque – at the wheels! This means that since some power is lost through the wheels, the power in the engine is even higher than 470 horsepower – perhaps up to 550 horsepower. Impressive!
