The American company Mullen Automotive has an electric SUV called Five in the works, and now they’re presenting a supercar that’s also electric. However, it’s really just a Chinese car called Qiantu K50 that Mullen has put its brand on.
They have now been granted permission to assemble and sell a version of the car in the US, and it will be called the Mullen GT and Mullen GTRS. They aim for a 0-100 km/h time of around two seconds and a top speed of over 320 km/h.
The collaboration between Mullen and Qiantu has been ongoing since 2019 when they began discussing whether Mullen could start selling the car in the States, but there was some disagreement over the contract, and the project was delayed. But now everything is supposed to be ready, and Mullen can start selling the model. The cost, however, is currently unclear. What seems to differentiate the GT from the GTRS is the aerodynamics.
In addition to the Five SUV and the GT, Mullen plans to sell a smaller Chinese car in Europe, but there is currently no further information about the new model.
