Ford has now been awarded the title “Most American Automaker” as they are the car manufacturer that builds the most cars in the US and has the most hourly employees.
Last year, 57,000 employees put together 1.8 million cars in the country, which is 130,000 more than the manufacturer in second place – unclear who that is though. Nearly 80 percent of all Fords sold in the states are built in the country, and Ford is also the company at the top when it comes to exporting cars. 260,000 units left the country last year.
Within the next three years, Ford plans to hire 18,000 more people, and many of them will work in battery production.
