The Tavascan concept from 2019 has now resulted in a production version with the same name. This will be Cupra’s first fully electric SUV coupe and second electric car after Born.
Born is essentially a Volkswagen ID.3 with a slightly more stylish appearance, while Tavascan is a Volkswagen ID.5 GTX with the same theme. However, Cupra has received 340 horsepower instead of 300 from the dual electric motors in the sharpest version, which they call VZ. The battery pack is 77 kWh, and on a single charge, it should be possible to travel up to 550 km.
The vehicle is all-wheel-drive, and it can go from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The car measures 4.64 meters in length, 1.86 meters in width, 1.59 meters in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.76 meters. It can be charged up to 135 kW.
The car has been designed and developed in Barcelona, but it will be manufactured at the Volkswagen Group’s factory in Anhui, China. The launch will take place sometime next year, but it remains to be seen what the price tag will be.
