In September last year, BMW launched the XM, the first electrified model from the M division, in the form of a super SUV. At that time, they announced that it would come in two versions, with Label Red being the more extreme version.
Now they are revealing more details about this version while also introducing the XM 50e, a kind of entry-level version that is somewhat milder. A mild version of an extreme car? BMW likes to mix things up.
Starting with the Label Red, it has been further enhanced and compared to the regular XM, it offers 748 instead of 653 horsepower. The torque is stated as 997 Newton meters. The power comes from the proven 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which has been paired with a small electric motor, and on pure electric power, it can drive up to 4.8 miles. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, and its top speed is 280 km/h with the M Driver’s Package.
In terms of appearance, this version has many red accents both inside and outside, and it also offers the option of the metallic Toronto Red paint. The Label Red starts at $185,000, while the regular XM starts at $159,995.
What about the XM 50e? They haven’t revealed much about it yet, except that it is also a plug-in hybrid and can drive up to 84 km on electric power alone.
This version has a straight-six M TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter engine, and the total power output is stated as 475 horsepower and 700 Newton meters of torque. We don’t know the price of this version yet.
