For quite some time now, we’ve known that Audi’s sports model, the R8, is going to be discontinued. During the recently held Monterey Car Week, the manufacturer bid farewell to the model with a special version of the R8 Performance called the ‘Last Lap.’
Many believed this was the end of the road, but it turns out Audi has a bit more to offer. On September 12th, something ‘special’ related to the model will be unveiled, although the exact nature of it remains to be seen.
Currently, they only mention that they will be celebrating the model’s history and that we should keep our eyes open. There are rumors that Audi is working on a fully electric successor to the R8.
