Many people want cheaper electric cars, and perhaps don’t need large and bulky SUVs. There is a need for more electric options in the small car class, and now Audi confirms that they have one in the works. It will become a new entry-level model in their e-tron lineup, and the new car will replace the current A3. It is expected to be based on the Volkswagen Group’s next generation electric vehicle platform, the SSP (Scalable Systems Platform). The car is likely to be offered both as a hatchback and as a sedan.
Before 2025, Audi aims to introduce 20 new models, and over half of them will be fully electric. The new model we are talking about here should come shortly after the Q6 e-tron, which is soon to begin production.
