Sony is now launching a beta version of cloud gaming for PS5, where games can be streamed to a PS5 in up to 4K resolution.

Users on the ResetEra forum have confirmed receiving invitations and share how they can choose between different resolutions, including 4K. The games automatically load users’ cloud saves, allowing them to continue playing where they left off.

It is still unclear if the maximum 4K resolution refers to rendering resolution or streaming resolution. Available games include titles like God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and Fortnite.

It is not yet confirmed if PS5 game streaming will be available on devices other than the PS5. Both Nvidia’s GeForce Now and Google’s now-defunct Stadia have offered options to stream games in 4K, for an additional fee.
