Sony has initiated a test where they allow PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers to stream PS5 games to their PlayStation 5 consoles without the need to download them.

It will be possible to stream games from both the PS Plus Game Catalog and the PS5 games that the user has already purchased and that support this new feature. Previously, Sony has offered streaming of PS3 and PS4 titles to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers. These games have also been playable on PC, which is not the case for the PS5 titles that will now become available for streaming.

Earlier this year, Sony introduced the handheld console “Project Q,” which is intended to play PlayStation games via Remote Play from the PS5. It is not entirely impossible that the ability to stream PS5 games from the cloud will also be available on Project Q when it is released.
