Last week, it became known that Google had introduced a limit on how many files a user could create on Google Drive, which led to users who had created over 5 million files not being able to access some of them anymore. Now, Google seems to have realized that it was a mistake and is indefinitely removing the limit on how many files users can create on Google Drive.

In a tweet, Google writes that even though the limit on the number of files that could be created on Google Drive only affected a small number of Google Drive users, they are now skipping the limit. Furthermore, Google writes that they will investigate other possibilities that will prevent the stability of Google Drive from being affected by a small number of users creating a huge number of files on their service.

Google received some criticism when it became known that they had introduced an upper limit on how many files could be created on Google Drive. However, the criticism was not primarily that they had introduced an upper limit, but that Google had done so silently without warning users who were using their service.
