Wiz smart bulbs, which have been manufactured since early 2021, have been updated with support for the new Matter standard, which means that they beat sister brand Philips Hue.
The new Wiz v2 app allows users to transfer compatible products to the new smart home standard directly in the app. They can then be added to any Matter app, including Apple Home. Previously, Wiz bulbs only worked with Apple’s smart home via Siri shortcuts, but now they have full support. Wiz bulbs work via Wi-Fi, unlike Hue bulbs which use the Zigbee protocol. This means that Wiz bulbs do not require a hub.
