iRobot, the company that manufactures robot vacuums under the Roomba brand, has developed a new accessory for its vacuums that can deliver dog treats to the household pets.
The accessory is called the Tasty Reward Emission Apparatus Thingy (T.R.E.A.T.), and it replaces the container typically used to collect the dust that the vacuum picks up. Afterwards, the vacuum can glide around the home and periodically dispense dog treats. Due to its design, the vacuum cannot be used for cleaning while T.R.E.A.T. is in use. Instead, the accessory is primarily intended to help dogs become less hostile towards the vacuum.
When it’s time for regular vacuuming, the owner must switch back to the original dust container. T.R.E.A.T. is currently in the prototype stage and is not yet being sold by iRobot. However, Roomba owners in the United States and Canada can apply to test T.R.E.A.T., which they can do on the website found in the link below. In the video above, you can see how T.R.E.A.T. is used in conjunction with a Roomba.
