Renault is now rolling out a facelift of the Clio model, giving it a completely new style that better matches the other newly released models in the lineup.
The new logo is in place at the front, and the car looks angrier than ever before – whether that’s good or bad is unclear. Size-wise, the car has the same dimensions as its predecessor. Inside, there’s a lot of recycled material, and up to 60 percent of the upholstery, door panels, and instrument panel are made of biomaterial. The sportiest version is the Alpine model.
The engine highlight is the one called E-Tech Full Hybrid 145. It’s a full hybrid (not a plug-in hybrid) that combines a 1.6-liter gasoline four-cylinder engine with two electric motors (one at 18 kW and one at 36 kW). This is connected to a 1.2 kWh battery and a smart clutchless gearbox. The combined power is stated to be 145 horsepower.
The updated Clio will be available in the fall, but we haven’t received any pricing information yet
