Mercedes has now presented an update of the large SUV GLS and it includes the Maybach GLS 600 which we can see here. As expected, it’s all about super luxury and this is the absolute finest and most exclusive offering from the manufacturer.

In terms of appearance, there haven’t been any major changes, this is a proper facelift where they have only tweaked a few buttons here and there. The lower grille of the front has received a chrome frame and become slightly lower while the large grille has become a bit higher. The radar unit in the middle is also more visible than before, which is strange to me as it is such an ugly gadget. The air intakes on each side are also new. The 23-inch wheels are forged and two new paint options are offered – Sodalite Blue Metallic and Manufaktur Alpine Grey Non-Metallic.

On the inside, everything has been further refined and it can be had in either Manufaktur Crystal White/Silver Grey pearl or Manufaktur Mahogany Brown/Macchiato Beige. The steering wheel is new and has touchpads on it. If you buy the fanciest MBUX system, you get three touchscreens to play with.

Only one engine option is offered and it’s the proven 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. Here it delivers 560 horsepower and 730 Newton-meters of torque. The package comes with a mild hybrid system with a small electric motor. The colossus can do 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.

We haven’t received a price tag yet, but it’s not going to be cheap.
