Mercedes-Maybach has now unveiled its first electric vehicle, which they call the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV. As expected, it is based on the EQS SUV, but here they have spruced up the model even further.
A unique grille, different rims, and two-tone paint are what immediately distinguish it in appearance. Inside, Executive seats with ventilation, massage, and heating for the neck and shoulders are standard. You can also get a separate massage for the calves in the footrests.
If you choose the First Class Rear option, you get a center console that goes all the way from the dashboard to the rear seatback. In it, there are cup holders with cooling and heating and a cooler where you can put a bottle of bubbly, which can then be enjoyed in specially designed silver-plated champagne glasses.
There are several different filters to make the air in the cabin as good as possible, and the Air Balance technology can spread a pleasant scent if you happen to let out a really bad smell. The Burmester 4D Surround System with 15 speakers is responsible for the sound, and there are “exciters” that make the music feel physically in the seats.
Under the hood, there are electric motors with a total output of 484 kW/658 horsepower and the torque is stated to be 950 Newton meters. 0-100 km/h should be achievable in 4.4 seconds. On a single charge, it should be able to go around 60 miles, and fast charging is possible up to 200 kW.
The car will go on sale this summer at an as-yet-unknown price. The first deliveries are expected to take place in the autumn.
