After a teaser a while ago, the Volkswagen Golf R 333 is now official. This will be a special edition with only 333 units, and the number also reflects the horsepower the engine offers. The power in the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder has been increased from 320 to 333 horsepower. The torque is at 420 Newton meters. These figures are the same as in the special edition Golf R 20 Years, which was presented last year. In addition to more power, you get a fully loaded car both inside and out, and a unique yellow metallic paint. The exhaust system comes from Akrapovic. But it won’t be cheap! They want $82,000 for this. The Golf R 20 Years starts from $53,000 so Volkswagen is asking for a hefty premium for essentially the same car.
Production will start in September, and you can order a unit starting today. The first cars are expected to be delivered in October.
