Cupra is Seat’s performance brand that has been moving more and more towards electrification. But there is currently no electric car with the Seat name on it, and there won’t be one released until after 2026.
Instead, the focus will be on Cupra, which is currently doing very well. According to CEO Wayne Griffiths, Seat and Cupra cannot both invest in electric drive at the same time, and the focus must be on one place at a time.
Between 2025 and 2030, the Volkswagen Group plans to build three million small electric cars in Spain. The factories will be located in Martorell and Pamplona, and Seat will be responsible for them. Among other things, the Volkswagen ID.2 will be produced here, as well as the Cupra UrbanRebel. Next year, the electric SUV Cupra Tavascan will be launched.
