XM is the name of BMW M’s latest creation. It is their first SUV and first plug-in hybrid, and it is extreme in every possible way. Under the hood, there is a V8 that delivers up to 750 horsepower.
Now there are rumors that the model will also be offered with a straight-six engine later on, for those who want a slightly milder version. This will be an entry-level version called XM 50e and is expected to be presented within a few months.
The power is expected to be around 600 horsepower and it will be able to drive up to eight miles on electricity alone. It may be that this version is only for the Chinese market and not something that will be sold elsewhere.
Below you can see some of the first tests of the XM.
