Last fall, we wrote about the Spanish electric car startup Liux and their cool wagon Animal. Now, the next model is being unveiled, and it’s the super-compact Geko, which, like its sibling, is also intended to be “green.”

The car is said to have plant-based materials in both the monocoque and the body, and several parts are 3D printed. The latter is said to reduce manufacturing times and, at the same time, reduce CO2 emissions. The car measures 2.7 meters in length and 1.5 meters in width. The electric motor, which is located on the rear axle, provides 15 kW/20 horsepower, and it gets its power from a modular battery pack with a capacity of 13 kWh. This should be recyclable and upgradeable in the future as technology improves. The range for the 550-kilogram lightweight car is expected to be 150 kilometers.

Currently, there are only renderings of the car, so we’ll have to see if and when it becomes a reality. The plan was for Animal to be launched early next year, but this has been postponed indefinitely.
