As promised, Peugeot has now unveiled the new fully electric model, the E-3008. It’s a crossover and the first one from Stellantis to be based on the new STLA Medium platform. The vehicle is expected to achieve a range of up to 700 kilometers on a single charge.
The new 3008 will also be available with internal combustion engines, as well as in mild and plug-in hybrid versions, but the electric variant is what the manufacturer is highlighting first. There are three different electric versions offered.
First, there’s a front-wheel-drive model with an electric motor delivering 157 kW, and it’s expected to cover up to 525 kilometers on a single charge with a 73 kWh battery pack.
Next is another front-wheel-drive version with an electric motor of 170 kW, a larger 98 kWh battery pack, and the longest range of up to 700 kilometers.
Lastly, there’s an all-wheel-drive version with an electric motor delivering 240 kW, a 73 kWh battery pack, and a range of 525 kilometers. The battery can be fast-charged at up to 160 kW, and all versions come with an onboard charger of 11 kW (an optional 22 kW charger is available).
Inside, you’ll find the latest iteration of the Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit, which includes a head-up display and a 21-inch touchscreen in front of the steering wheel. Driver information is on the left, while infotainment features are on the right. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available.
The car features a brand-new steering wheel with tactile buttons, and the cabin includes a new air quality system called AQS, which monitors and improves the air inside the car. With the rear seats up, the trunk offers 520 liters of cargo space. There’s no front trunk (frunk), and the all-wheel-drive version has 50 liters less luggage space.
The car will go on sale in Europe in February next year, but pricing details are not available at the moment.
