General Motors (GM) has decided to no longer include Android Auto or Apple CarPlay in their new electric cars. Instead, they will fully focus on Android Automotive, and the first car to have it will be next year’s Chevrolet Blazer EV.

GM’s Android Automotive will offer eight years of free use of both Google Assistant and Google Maps. However, it is unclear what the cost of using these services will be after the eight years.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will still be available as options in GM’s cars with combustion engines, at least until they are phased out in about ten years.
