Not everyone is short on cash and can throw a lot of money at old cars without hesitation. That’s exactly what happened recently when a Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 was auctioned off by Silverstone Auctions.
The car, which is from 1987, has only driven 5,192 miles and is almost like new. The auction house estimated that it would sell for between £150,000 and £180,000, which is already a lot of money. However, it didn’t turn out that way, and the winning bid landed at a record-breaking £590,500.
The buyer can look forward to an extremely fine car with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 224 horsepower developed by Cosworth, rear-wheel drive, and a sturdy picnic table on the trunk.
