Yamaha has announced two brand new Dolby Atmos soundbar speakers after recently returning to the market: the SR-B40A with a wireless external subwoofer and the SR-B30A, which handles bass reproduction via a built-in subwoofer.
These new TV speakers are a step up from Yamaha’s compact SR-C30A and SR-C20A, reflected in both their size and presumably their prices. European prices have not been finalized yet, but the larger SR-B40A is expected to be around 550 euros, while the smaller SR-B30A is expected to be approximately 350 euros.
The SR-B40A features four full-range drivers and two tweeters, covering a frequency range from 210 Hz to 22,000 Hz. The separate wireless subwoofer handles the bass. The SR-B30A has the same full-range drivers and tweeters as the SR-B40A but also includes a built-in subwoofer that reaches down to 54 Hz.
According to Yamaha, the new soundbar speakers offer an immersive sound experience and brilliant audio reproduction with the help of their True Sound principle, which maximizes the three-dimensional aspects of Dolby Atmos. Additionally, Yamaha’s Clear Voice function provides better dialogue reproduction. Both speakers also have four sound modes: movie, stereo, standard, and game, which help match the sound to the content being watched.
In terms of connectivity, both models have optical and HDMI compatibility. With HDMI-CEC and eARC connections, you can control basic functions directly from your TV remote control. Alternatively, there’s the convenient Sound Bar Remote app, allowing you to adjust and change volume and sound modes from your phone or tablet. Both models are set to be available from July.
