Since Heinz Lichtenegger from Pro-Ject took over Musical Fidelity, there has been an increasing stream of new products from Musical Fidelity.
Like this one, the Musical Fidelity M3x DAC. A complete premium-class digital-to-analog converter, with everything you need in one place.
The DAC, available in black or silver-grey, features two optical, two coaxial, and one USB input. All with 16-bit PCM upsampling from CD to 24-bit and 192 kHz for more precise signal processing and better sound. The USB input supports 32-bit 192 kHz and DSD256 files.
Signal processing is handled by a PCM 1795 DAC from Burr Brown, which is coupled with an SRC 4392 sample rate converter. It also has balanced rear outputs and utilizes Musical Fidelity’s Super Silent transformers, connected to an EMI filter with a voltage filter to remove electromagnetic interference.
The M3x DAC also supports Roon clients, a highly requested feature by many users. The DAC has an estimated price of 1500 Euro.
