Bang & Olufsen is back with the new portable high-end speaker Beosound A5, designed in collaboration with the Danish-Italian design duo GamFratesi. The speaker is available in two colors, natural aluminum with a woven paper fiber front and a light oak handle, and a black aluminum version in anthracite with a speaker cover and handle in dark oak. The design created for Beosound A5 is said to have been inspired by Beolit 607, Beolit 800, and Beolit 1000.
The speaker can be easily picked up with the handle and has an IP65 water and dustproof rating, as well as over twelve hours of playtime. For times when you don’t have access to a phone charger, there is also a wireless phone charger integrated into the speaker’s top.
Beosound A5 is the company’s most powerful portable speaker to date. With its four speaker elements combined with four digital amplifiers, it delivers a total output of 280 watts. These consist of a 5.25-inch bass driver, two 2-inch midrange drivers, and a 0.75-inch tweeter. According to Bang & Olufsen, the speaker is modular, which should make repairs easier and extend the life of the speaker. It also uses the Mozart software platform. It can also be stereo-paired and has an ultra-wideband chip to make such functions easier to use.
Beosound A5 is compatible with Beolink Multiroom, Airplay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, and Bluetooth 5.2.
The price is $1,099 and it is available for order now.
