According to an internal report from Meta, few users are actually using Meta’s smart sunglasses, Ray-Ban Stories. Only less than ten percent of users use the product regularly.

Between its launch in September 2021 and February 2023, Ray-Ban sold approximately 300,000 sunglasses, but only 27,000 users were using them each month at the time the report was written. Users have reportedly experienced issues with poor connectivity and battery life.

Meta’s Reality Labs, responsible for the Ray-Ban collaboration, has also reported a loss of nearly 8 million dollars during the first half of 2023.

Despite this, Meta plans to release a new generation of Ray-Ban Stories in the fall or spring. The new glasses are expected to have improved battery life and camera features and will be available in more models than the current three. As of now, we do not know their pricing.
