Meta has added new AI functionality to the smart glasses developed in collaboration with Ray-Ban, making these glasses genuinely “smart.”
The new features in Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses enable the glasses to recognize what the user is looking at. Utilizing this, users can get translations of texts in different languages, identify various objects around them, and even receive suggestions for matching clothes, as demonstrated in an Instagram post by Meta’s founder Mark Zuckerberg below. Additionally, Meta has introduced a feature that allows users of the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses to receive answers to various questions via Microsoft’s search engine Bing.
The new features in Meta and Ray-Ban’s smart glasses will initially be available to a limited number of users in the USA. Meta plans to release the functionality on a larger scale sometime in 2024.
