Having a head-up display in a car is very practical, allowing you to see important information without taking your eyes off the road. Now, BMW has introduced a pair of sunglasses that provide the same experience for motorcycle riders.

They are called ConnectedRide Smartglasses and are essentially a pair of sunglasses with a built-in display. The display shows information such as speed, current gear, navigation instructions, and speed limits. As I understand it, they can be connected to the motorcycle’s navigation system but can also be linked to a mobile phone and BMW’s app, where you can customize what appears on the display and how it is presented.

Other settings are also visible there. The battery is said to last for ten hours, which covers a full day of riding. The package includes two pairs of lenses: one that is nearly transparent, designed to be used with a helmet that has built-in sun protection, and a darker pair that functions as sunglasses.

The price tag is set at 690 euros.
