Last year, Google introduced something called “Immersive View” to Google Maps, a mode where users could view map images in a more immersive way. Now, Google is introducing this feature for entire routes on Google Maps.
With “Immersive View for routes” on Google Maps, you can check out your entire route as it may appear when you start driving, cycling, or walking. Both traffic and weather will be adjusted according to the time you plan to travel based on traffic and weather data collected by Google.
Google Maps’ Immersive View for routes will be released for 15 cities at the end of the year. You can see a small preview of what it will look like below.
