Set in an open world called Redfall, players are left to battle for survival on an island infested with vampires. The sun has been blocked out, making you, a human, constantly in danger. Using a mixture of guns, magic, and anti-vampire tech, you and your squad need to survive against the bloodthirsty vampires.
Storyline
The island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, is under attack by a horde of vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut the citizens off from the outside world. Explore the open world and immerse yourself in a deep story campaign as you unravel the mystery behind the vampires’ appearance. Gain allies and join forces with a handful of survivors against the dark creatures threatening to bleed the town dry.
Created by science experiments gone wrong, Redfall’s vampires are supernatural beings with psychic abilities. These creatures will challenge you and your squad to get creative. You will get to choose from a team of diverse heroes – each with their own diverse character-specific abilities – to overcome the vampire horde and their group of violent followers.
Redfall – The Characters
Redfall is a true Arkane experience set in a rich world that blends the familiar with the extraordinary. Redfall’s open world is handcrafted by the master level designers behind Prey’s Talos I space station and Dishonored’s Dunwall. From the town’s once-bustling downtown and the haunted forest to the decimated seaside boardwalk and beyond, you will fight through cultist outposts and supernatural psychic spaces as you piece together Redfall’s many mysteries.
As soon as you jump into the Redfall world you’ll be greeted with four playable characters, the first one being a college student then a cryptozoologist, a combat engineer and finally a mercenary. Even though you’d probably never be able to envision all of these people working well together they actually build a really good base for this game and will even put this game in a position to compete against other popular games like Dead Island 2 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Each one of these characters, listed above, will have a set of abilities that is unique to them.
Devinder Crousley – “The verified cryptid hunter”
Devinder Crousley is the cryptozoologist and the inventor of the group. He got stranded in Redfall while he was on a book tour. Thanks to all of the experience that he has had in the past, as a cryptid-hunter, he is actually really good at crafting weapons that you can use against the vampires.
Layla Ellison – “The telekinetic threat in student debt”
Layla Ellison was enrolled at Redfall Technical University, as a biomedical engineering student. Ellison ended up with a host of superpowers, that can be used as both offence and defence, after volunteering for a medical trial that went terribly wrong.
Jacob Boyer – “The deadeye with an undead eye”
Jacob Boyer is a character in the game who is most known for his amazing marksmanship, thanks to his service in the Special Forces unit in the US military back in the day. He found himself on Redfall island after being assigned a very mysterious contract there. He not only has some great marksman skills but he is actually also able to command a psychic, spectral raven, thanks to a vampiric eye that he received after landing here.
Remi De La Rosa – “The Ingenious Ingeniera”
Remi De La Rosa is the final member of this group and used to be a robotic engineer. Thanks to her special talents she was sent to Redfall to try and train the local Coast Guard contingent, but she sadly became stranded here and now has to fight the vampires with Bribon, which is a drone that can function as a decoy, cover or attack drone to aid her.
